The beauty of EZ Header™ is that because it is adjustable, less area is disturbed when making a repair to an existing failed wood header. It can replace pieces of broken, water damaged or deflected wood floor joists. It can also replace portions of wood floor joists that need to be cut or notched to accommodate plumbing piping, electrical conduit, mechanical ductwork and other building elements that need to bypass the existing structural wood floor joists. EZ Header™ can even be used to restore a floor to its original level state, if it has not deflected beyond 3” and the manufacturer’s instructions are followed correctly (call our support team for specific guidance in this area if you are unsure).
Because EZ Header™ is made of steel it provides tremendous versatility in structural support. It can be used to hang a multitude of heavy objects securely, including chandeliers, HVAC units, heavy bags, gas blowers, fireplace hearths and even installing heavy safes in wood framed floors.
The steel composition of EZ Header™ makes it non-combustible which provides superior safety and it is finished with a rust inhibitor to help protect it in a damp or leaking environment. It can also adapt to a multiple of installation attachment points, such as Lolly Columns, I-Beams and C-Joists, making it the hands down choice when working in tricky areas.
The original EZ Header™ expands from 22” – 32” and can support one beam 12” or 16” on center. However, EZ Header™ will be manufactured to meet virtually any specification or situation.
