Recently we engaged in a large 1st floor construction project where we were going to renovate the Kitchen,
Den, and relocate the bathroom and laundry room into the garage. The goal of this project was to have an open
layout as all the rooms has narrow entrances and felt boxed in. With our contractors assistance we designed the
floor plan and started the construction. The framing was near completion when we realized there was not a header
available based on the direction of the floor joists and foundation support that would let us eliminate an unsightly
support column and soffet between the entry foyer and the den see (Figure 1) in the photo section page 5

We spent about 1 week trying to figure out how to install a header so we could get rid of the column, unfortunately
every solution involved adding soffits with simply would have looked terrible. I was reading the latest edition of
NARI magazine and noticed an advertisement for EZ-Header from E.Z. H.A.S.H.. I then went on the website and
this product looked like exactly what I needed. I called the following morning and spoke to the creator Paul Harkin
explaining the situation; he told me EZ-header was invented for exactly these types of applications. We then set up
an appointment,When Paul arrived we discussed the problem and within 10 minutes Paul explained how EZ-Header
would allow me to recess the header in the ceiling and the hinged support brackets would allow me to mount
the Ez-Header at any angle. Paul then took a couple of measurements and ordered the steel for the EZ-Header.
The EZ-Header arrived 4 days later and Chris Kardis from Complete Carpentry and his helper’s Joe & Dave were
ready to install it. Within only 3 Hours they:

Built the temporary walls

- Cut the slice in the floor joists

- Put the EZ-Header in place

- Drilled the holes for the 5’ Lag bolts

- Mounted the lag bolts

- Removed the temporary walls

We are ECSTATIC that we found EZ-Header and are 110% satisfied with the product and customer service, but
even more compelling is the fact that it allowed us to put the finishing touch on our renovation and not a column
on the middle of our entryway (figure 2) see figure 2 in the photos section page 5

I am writing you to thank you very much for the installation of 2 of your EZ Headers in an investment property we are renovating and getting ready for resale. The house was in such bad condition, that all the interior had to be removed down to the subflooring and the framing. The 2nd. Floor bathroom subfloor and the beams were severely water damaged and needed to be repaired before we can start to rebuild. EZ Header was the solution, as it was installed in one day, no major reconstruction of the floor joist, except where the EZ Header was being installed, and now I have a lifetime structurally sound floor that I no longer have to worry about eroding away the integrity of the subflooring.

The 2nd header that was installed was placed between the living room and the kitchen, allowing me to have a structurally strong retaining wall, in addition, allowing me to open up the wall between these two rooms to create an open concept living space of which buyers are looking for in homes today.

Not only was this done professionally, the crew was polite, courteous, cleaned up when completed, and completed in a timely fashion. In my business, time is money, saving me money and time with the project, so I can continue on with the renovation project.

My name is Jimmy Farnochi, and I own a building that was build sometime in the mid 1800’s of which a bar is located on the first floor. The original existing floor joist under the bar bathroom was no longer structurally stable due to 150 years of wear & tear and water damage, causing the floor to sink. The only way to make the repair was to either remove the fixtures, tiles, flooring and sub flooring and remove the entire whole joist or hire a plumber to remove all the plumbing pipes underneath the joist. This needed to be done to support and remove the defective section of the joist and properly secure it to be structurally stable.

Then a friend told me about E.Z. H.A.S.H., Inc. and their new product, the EZ Header that would solve my problem of the sinking floors.

They came in and installed it without any demolition or removal of plumbing and no material cost. After installation, my floors were supported in about 2 hours.
